Gallimaufry

I first heard the word ldquo;gallimaufryrdquo; as I was listening to Laurie R. Kingrsquo;s The God of the Hive. Curiosity sent me to the online dictionary, where I found these synonyms: a jumble, a hodgepodge, mishmash, mixed bag, a great assortment, and ndash; my favorite ndash; patchwork, as in patchwork quilt.
This quilt, a disappearing four-patch variation, is made mostly from a ldquo;gallimaufryrdquo; of fabric left over from my ldquo;Washington Squarerdquo; quilt.
