The Timpooneke Trail starts on the north end of the Alpine Loop, a little past the Timponogos Cave parking lot and ends at the Mt. Timponogos summit, although this hike in 2011 turned around a little less than halfway up. One of the disadvantages of taking a camera and tripod is how little time is left for hiking.

This trail climbs the northeast, or back, side of Timp and offers discovery of a fascinating variety of cliffs, meadows and vegetation.
