Harvest Homecoming
Pieced by Kathy Cracroft Wilhelmsen (Draper, Utah ndash; 2013)
This is a personal variation on the ldquo;Just Canrsquo;t Cut Itrdquo; pattern by All Washed Up. I used a smaller scale: 9.5-inch squares, 5-inch squares, and 3.5 x 5.5-inch rectangles to make the blocks. I added three 9.5-inch Ohio Star blocks to the mix as well.
Most of the fabrics in this quilt came from fabric samples given to me by Barbara McFarlane (through her friend Dana), along with some pieces from my stash. I purchased the backing fabric at Thimbles lsquo;n Threads for $1.99 in their clearance room. This quilt really demonstrates my desire to honor the quilting tradition of frugality.
This quilt, donated to the 2013 Festival of Trees, was displayed in the Quilt Walk and purchased for $375, all of which went to Primary Childrenrsquo;s Hospital.
