Stars and Stripes
Pieced by Kathy Cracroft Wilhelmsen (Draper, Utah ndash; 2013)
ldquo;Star and Stripes,rdquo; ldquo;Princess Buttercup,rdquo; and ldquo;Sense and Sensibilityrdquo; are three small quilts all made from the same pattern but with quite different looks because of color selection and placement. Each was made entirely from fabrics I already had on hand.
I love the wavy flag pattern in the machine quilting on this sweet little patriotic quilt. This was gifted to (retired Col.) Dwayne Wright and his wife LaRue, two of the finest people I know. During the Vietnam War, Bishop Wrightrsquo;s plane was shot down into enemy waters; he was seriously injured but fortunately was rescued by allied forces.
