Texas Our Texas
Pieced and quilted in Texas-themed fabrics by Kathy Cracroft Wilhelmsen (Draper, Utah ndash; 2007). Size is 9 x 11 inches. Embellished with buttons and sterling silver armadillo charms (made by Texas jeweler James Avery) and cowboy hat charms.
This quilt has a bonus Friendship Star block on the back because Texas is known as the Friendship State and the Lone Star State.
I made this little quilt in memory of Bob Williams, an exemplary Texan, and also in honor of his wife LaNere, a devoted Alzheimerrsquo;s caregiver. I donated it to Ami Simmsrsquo; Alzheimerrsquo;s Art Quilt Initiative, and it sold for $55.00 at the International Quilt Festival in Houston in November 2007.
