Over the years, good friends have shared with me an abundance of the beautiful fabric line “Temple Flowers” by Amy Butler. During the 2022 Moda Blockheads online challenge, I used this fabric, as well as some from my own stash and leftovers, to make the variety of blocks represented in this sampler quilt.

This quilt told me while I was making it that it was meant for a treasured and dear friend, Pat Russell. “This fabric has a lot of purple in it,” the quilt said. “Make sure you use it.” And so this quilt is dedicated to Pat, whose signature color is purple, and whose signature qualities are selflessness, creativity, generosity, patience, humor, warmth, loving kindness, and grace.
